On June 8 in Bend, a great group of Farm Bureau volunteers went shopping for $1,500 worth of food to donate to the local Ronald McDonald House Charity. The charity offers families of sick children a place to stay while the kids are being treated at a nearby hospital.

Organized by the OFB Women’s Advisory Council, this donation joins an earlier donation of $2,400 in groceries made in February to the two RMH charities based in Portland.
“We greatly appreciate Farm Bureau’s donation and the great volunteers who every year fill our pantry with much-needed food for the families staying with us,” said Kristy Krugh, executive director of Bend’s RMH.
Thank you to the Farm Bureau volunteers who helped: Women’s Advisory Council Chair Mickey Killingsworth, Mollie Eder, Nancy Klatt, Cindy Tichenor, Roberta Valladao, Katherine Povey, Hayden Povey, and OFB staffer Anne Marie Moss.
Grocery shopping was done at Erickson’s Thriftway in Bend. The store gave Farm Bureau a generous discount on the purchsae.
> Many thanks to the county Farm Bureaus that contributed to the Bend Ronald McDonald House event: Coos-Curry, Crook-Wheeler, Hood River, Linn, Multnomah, Marion, and Wasco.
