It’s your $50. Use it or lose it.
Through Oregon’s tax system, the state gives each tax-paying Oregonian a $50 gift. But the catch is, you can’t keep it. Instead, you must either pay it back in state taxes – or donate it to a qualified political campaign or cause.
To put it another way, by donating $50 to OFB’s Political Action Committee, you can reduce your taxes or increase your refund by that same $50. It’s a full 100% tax credit, not a tax deduction.
By donating to OFB PAC, you are supporting legislative measures and candidates who understand and value Oregon’s agriculture, natural resources, and small business communities.
Married, filing jointly? It’s $50 per person, so you and your spouse can jointly donate $100 and get it all back.
How: Make a check out to Oregon Farm Bureau PAC and send it to OFB, Attn. Candace Seal, 1320 Capitol St. NE, Salem, OR 97301.
Important: If you wish to receive a tax credit for 2015, your check must be dated no later than Dec. 31, 2015.
