Farm Bureau donates $2,400 in groceries to RMH charities
The pantries of Portland’s two Ronald McDonald House Charities are a lot better stocked, thanks to a donation of $2,400 worth of groceries delivered by members of the OFB Women’s Advisory Council on Feb. 16.
The charity offers families of sick children a place to stay while their kids are being treated at a nearby hospital.
“Farm Bureau has supported the Ronald McDonald Houses in Oregon for many years, and our donation of food is always greatly appreciated by the families staying there,” said Anne Rigor, event organizer. “It’s a lot of fun for us, too.”
Thank you to the great group of Farm Bureau volunteers who pitched in: Anne Rigor, Hannah Tucker, Connie Young, Gerry Casale, Kristie Glaser, Brooke Glaser, Kendra Glaser, Brandon Glaer, and Dave Dillon. Grocery shopping was done at Haggen Foods in Tualatin.
WAC raises funds for this donation throughout the year and via contributions from county Farm Bureaus.
> Many thanks to the counties that contributed to the Portland Ronald McDonald House event: Benton, Clackamas, Coos-Curry, Douglas, Hood River, Lane, Linn, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.
In June, WAC members will meet to donate groceries to the Ronald McDonald House in Bend.
