On Friday, Feb. 17, County Farm Bureau presidents gathered at the capitol to get an overview of ag-related legislation directly from lawmakers, and an update on Farm Bureau’s progress this session by OFB staff.

Legislators answered questions on many issues, including bills involving labor, water, transportation, and state funding for critical ag programs. Speakers included Senator Arnie Roblan, Senator Fred Girod, Rep. Brian Clem, House Republican Leader Mike McLane, and ODA Director Alexis Taylor.

Also that day, the OFB Women’s Advisory Council hosted its annual cake and coffee reception at the capitol for lawmakers, legislative staff, and the general public (see video below). The event offered attendees an opportunity to talk to actual farmers and ranchers, learn about Farm Bureau, celebrate Oregon agriculture’s contributions to society, and recognize the role women play in agriculture.
